The Pfizer Internship program is ongoing! It is the first of its kind, and it works to advance students and early-career colleagues.

In 1849, Charles Pfizer & Company launched Pfizer, the world’s largest research-based biomedical and pharmaceutical company. In 1862, it was the first company in the United States to produce tartaric acid and cream of tartar.

Following that, Pfizer’s sales totaled more than $3 million—in 1910! Pfizer is a drug-development powerhouse with a $50 billion revenue in 2009, producing ground-breaking products such as Viagra, Lipitor, and Zoloft. Medical research is still an important part of its operations.

Responsibilities vary depending on the department, but may include research, assisting sales staff, and administrative duties.

Pharmaceutical operations, finance, marketing and market research, global research and development, and global manufacturing are all possible departments. Pfizer also has a summer legal internship program.

About Pfizer Internship

Each intern will be assigned to a health plan, pharmacy benefit management company, and employer site during the 10-week program.

This immersive experience will complete their introduction to the managed care pharmacy profession and assist them in developing a career plan. Interns will also be paired with virtual preceptors and will present capstone research projects at AMCP Nexus.

Interns may also spend time at a Pfizer facility in the United States. The program will pay for expenses that have been approved. Interns will also be paid a small stipend.

Eligibility

• Be a full-time undergraduate student enrolled in a university program.
• Committed interest in pursuing an MBA or MPH
• Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Meet the program’s objectives of increasing the pipeline of Black/African Americans, Latino/Hispanics, and Native Americans.
• Exhibit exceptional leadership potential.
