About Marshall Scholarship
For postgraduate study at any university in the United Kingdom, the Marshall Scholarship is available to intellectually brilliant young Americans.
Along with the Fulbright Scholarship, it is the only widely available scholarship available to Americans to study at any university in the United Kingdom. It is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious scholarships for U.S. citizens.
The Marshall Aid Commemoration Commission grants the scholarships, which are mostly sponsored by the British government. The program was also the first significant co-ed graduate fellowship in Britain, with women making up one-third of the initial cohort in 1954.
It is one of the most competitive graduate scholarships available to Americans, with approximately 1,000 university-endorsed and chosen applicants in recent years. The admission percentage hovers around 4% and dropped as low as 3.2 percent in 2015.
